SEED PROCESSING
At CHICOLINE, the processing of chicory seeds by pelleting, coating, or lamination facilitates sowing and protects the seeds and young chicories against bioagressors.
EFFECTIVE COATING FOR OPTIMUM BEHAVIOUR
Processing chicory seeds by pelleting or coating is the fruit of very productive collaboration with the German company SUET Saat- und Erntetechnik GmbH. Thanks to their 70 years of experience, we have together developed very effective coating/pelleting for chicory in terms of both shape and hardiness, and its resistance to abrasion. These qualities allow the pelleted chicory seeds to behave optimally when using any type of planter. This guarantees very good sowing regularity in the field and development of an optimum population. Furthermore, the technological properties of the pelleting material allow excellent germination in all environments, whether hot or cold, or wet or dry.
VARIOUS PROCESSING METHODS FOR OUR CHICORY SEED
We offer three different processing methods of chicory seeds to meet market demand and expectations
- A “full” pelleting, round, coloured, sized 2.75 to 3.25 mm.
- A “mini” pelleting preserving the seed’s shape, coloured, sized 1.75 to 2.25 mm.
- A simple coloured pelleting of the seed.
Depending on the needs of our partners and clients, and in conformity with local laws in force, the processing of chicory seeds may include various additives such as fungicides and insecticides to protect the chicory seeds and the seedlings in the field.
